A Monster
in Parigi
The
third but still one to go!
This
particular animation film at Cine Lumiere is in English.
No subtitles
are required here, since the story is a straightforward one of a hybrid of stories.
Instead of being with one flying book, or with a hybrid human or two, we find ourselves with the new age pages of many fables in one.
Unlike the previous CineLum stories seen before.
It
takes us into the upside-down world of Frankenstein’s lab -where the morbid
forbidden forest is a mix and mash of flora and fauna.
No lab electricals here, except for the electricity of the natural elements, exploding inside bottles and into potions, and creating
a bewitching and magical world for all us viewers.
From
a giant spider inside Harry Potter world, to another forest filled with love and with mutant hunch back singing skeletons.
Hats
down to the creators of this film for its imaginative Jack and the Bean Stalk
flowery romantic content.
The
movie offers us growing sun flowers and monstrous spider mutants.
In actual fact: there is only one: he is the phantom skeleton spider of the opera, with an angel singer for a friend. He is Jack of the Bean sun flower too!
They lullaby us into a stage of theatrical Parigi.
The
final fable felt in this film -through signs, symbols and hints of insignias- is Alice in Wonderland. From the talking top of the giant
tree or plant, to the eat-me/drink-me papers and letters of invitations, we jump from scene to glorious scene.
The
tea party is set in a French style bistro setting -from time to time, as well as
in the movie theatre, and on a cabaret musical stage.
The
hunch back of Notre Dame is non-other than the phantom skeleton hat wearing
hero too; the same giant looking spider -who isn’t a germ at all but a talented
being.
The
story is also a gargoyle type buildings story -where the escape scenes take us
away from the top of buildings and balloons to the trams and moving vehicles of
a transformative nature.
The cars change and so do the living things.
The
content is one of love and couples, as well as of Sherlock Holmes detective clues
and follow ups.
Will the commissionaire and the captain find the culprits? Who
are the culprits and how will the story unfold?
Escapes
and Chases above and afoot!
Not forgetting the love angle baby!
Sing me out to black-
How
clever will our hybrid team of heroes be?
